My theory on why Clara doesn’t know that River is the Doctor’s wife

he was suspicious of Clara, what was she? was she a trap? a spy? so the last thing he would tell her is what his greatest weakness was, his wife. if he told Clara (if Clara was a threat) then she would know how to hurt him, how to manipulate him, take the woman he loves and hurt her.

so his not telling Clara wasn’t because he doesn’t love River, but because he does love River. and by keeping their real relationship hidden he was protecting her.

My Doctor’s name theory

He goes “I am the Doctor and my name is…” and it cuts to some point in space or some planet. we hear some spacey wacey noise as something appears or unlocks (from a timelock or something) and from it something leaves it.

basically it plays on the idea that the doctor used his real name to seal something in, something awful, something from Timelord stories (why Romana didn’t ask his name and why he is the only timelord whose name isn’t spoken). and they use this to give us something to see and hear to distract us from his name (old magicians trick).

this is what the wispermen or what ever are after and what the silence fear (the silence weren’t acting in malice but to protect the universe from this evil in their own ends over means method). and this is the great task that requires more doctors to solve (like how one and two were needed to help three fight omega) or it could effect all universe which is why tentoo and Rose zap over like how she did in stolen earth.

also that would make River a part of the 50th because she wouldn’t just leave in the middle of a fight (unless the doctor knew she would be a prime target (as she is a big weakness to him, he is very emotional and she is the woman he loves easy bait) and he is forced to trick her into leaving, sonicing her VM and zapping her to the past and trapping her or something).

so ya this is my main theory, I have a secondary one too. that instead he makes some weird noise, very high pitch or something making it hard to replicate or anything, and only River understands (as she is  (basically) a timelady so her body and mind will be more attune to understanding it). if so I hope at the very end he adds “Song” or “Pond” to it or River jokes about adding it on (as the doctor made Rory take Amy’s name River makes him take hers)

theflyingquirrell:

C’mon, we are not going to know the Doctors actual name by the end of series seven.
Moffat just wouldn’t blow it out of the water after 50 years. Even if he did, what improvement would that bring to the show? Yes, we know his name now, fabulous, what’s the next adventure?
I believe that he will tell River, and River only, in secret. She’ll leave, something will happen to her and that Lux lot in the Library, and she will send the SOS to his psychic paper, but it will not reach Eleven, but reach Ten. And that will be it. End of River Song.
We knew this episode was coming for a few years now.

or we get a weird cut to clara at a different location or its just some weird non repeatable noise which only can be understood or spoken by timelords (and that is why River was the only person who was able to properly remember it and repeat it to ten, which is also why he was in disbelief in the library because only timelords would be able to repeat it and all of them are dead)

Clara Oswald theory: Bad Wolf/Rose Tyler and Clara are somehow related

FACTS:

  • Bad Wolf was able to see all of time and space and mold it. (ep: Journey’s End)
  • Constant presence of roses around all three “versions” of Clara.
  • ‘The most important leaf in human history’ was from a Norway Maple. (ep: The Rings of Akhaten). Darlig Ulv Stranden (a.k.a. Bad Wolf Bay) is located in Norway (ep: Doomsday / Journey’s End)
  • On 5 March 2005, Rose Tyler first met the Doctor. (ep: Rose) 5 March 2005 is also the date when Clara’s mother died. (ep: The Rings of Akhaten).
  • Clara is always wearing red clothes (or something red, like her bag in The Rings of Akhaten). Red is the color of most common roses.
  • The TARDIS doesn’t seem to like Clara (ep: The Rings of Akhaten). This may be due to the fact that she is an anomaly of the Universe. The same thing happened with Jack Harkness, since Bad Wolf had given him immortality. The TARDIS tried to shake Jack off (ep: Utopia).

Not a bad theory especially now that Rose is coming back for the 50th

Dude that makes so much sense! ok so silence in the library, right, before we thought it was just a coincidence that they called it silence in the library but now i’m not so sure. so the silence have been more involved now and especially when DW returns. i think it has to do with Oswin. Also, that is Rivers 1st/ last episode. River has been kidnapped and stuff by the silence right?   I think that Oswin, River and the silence are all connected. The Doctor has to figure it out. Maybe Oswin is CAL somehow projecting herself.    Maybe shes projecting herself into the real world from her data base. that would explain why when she dies she comes back to life but in a different place/life. Shes smart and clever. When the Doctor and Donna left the library at the end, they left Rivers Diary in the library… CAL can look up any book in the library.
ps. i know this is a stretch but, maybe Donna could come back? Donna was in the library. She met River. River seemed to know Donna and was sad. Maybe just because the Doctor told her what happened to Donna, but the 11th Doctor never seems to really talk about his past. The way River acted around Donna always, i donno, different, like she knew something.
I donno… tell me what you think.

wait does that also mean the River can project herself? maybe not fully but for dates with the doctor.

Omega in New Who.

It can’t just be coincidence…

Who caused the TARDIS to explode at the end of Season Five?

Who was behind Father Octavian’s investigation of the crash of the Byzantium?

Who is behind the Anglican Marines?

Who is behind the Headless Monks?

Who is behind the Silence?

The clues are there in plain sight.

Omega.

I’VE BEEN CALLING THIS OMEGA SHIT SINCE IMPOSSIBLE ASTRONAUT HOLY SHIT I’M NOT ALONE

but omega is dead, he died in three doctors. also if he is behind the silence will that mean we will need three doctors to defeat him again, 50th maybe? *crosses fingers*

Saving Donna Noble: a head canon

first off I think ten found a way to store the timelord part of Donna (well all of the Donna he knew). most likely using the chameleon arch as it would be an easy way to try to remove the timelord part of her so that she wouldn’t be hunted for it. and from that he uploaded her to CAL.

She would help take care of the kids (as they were hers) and keep River company and such. this fits in a larger head canon that the Doctor is turning CAL into a new Matrix to keep companions safe (and so that he can visit them at night).

Also I think that the doctor set up some more protection for her (more than the regeneration bomb). first off he got some of his friends to help out. Jack for one would help, he could use Torchwood’s resources to keep track of her. Sarah Jane would also help, by befriending Donna and Donna’s Mum, and just making sure that nothing is surfacing with Donna. Martha, Micky, and UNIT would also help.

I have a bit of a head canon that UNIT keeps track of people who have had alien contact and monitors and helps them. Sometimes it’s recruiting them like Martha, sometimes its protection, sometimes its just helping them get set up and leaving them alone, and sometimes it is providing medical care (as some of the medical history and parts of biology (weather its alien physiology, unexplainable damage, or non-terrestrial medical care) might raise some questions in the mainstream medical system).

but back to Donna. the groups would probably pose as Wilfs friends, maybe and astronomy club or something. and Wilf probably wouldn’t mind, he could have friends who he could tell about his experiences and swap stories with (and not think that he is crazy).

also the reason Donna gets this much protection is simple. she is more vulnerable. She can’t remember her times with the Doctor so she isn’t going to suspect that she would be a target. She also wouldn’t remember the stuff she had learned, weather how to BS her self to safety or how to take down a Sontaran.

finally she is a more interesting target, she is a tiny bit timelord (from the meta crisis) and since some groups are VERY interested in procuring timelord DNA (as River said, they would rip the world apart just for one cell). so if she was discovered they would take her and try to extract what they can.

watching fathers day

willstr1:

and remember the bit where the Doctor tells Rose that having two of them there (to see her father die) made it a weak point in time.

well what if the doctor exploited that fact in tIA/tWoRS? I mean we know there were two Rivers on that beach, and then fetus!Melody (maybe depending on when Amy was taken), and I am willing to bet as a teselecta takes more than one to drive it River might have helped him drive the teselecta (as he would need someone he could trust). that would make that “fixed point” very weak so weak that he might be able to change the results as long as it looked similar to outsiders.

holy fuck, she is bracing for regeneration. she might have split in two. her neural trace splinting into a second River while her body continuing (using a spare regeneration the doctor gave her just in case).

“MINE” Amy Pond.

Amy is a bit possessive of Rory, not that she shouldn’t, she is possessive in a protective way (like how she was with the siren (I loved that with the protecting with a dash of jealous wife) or here where he can’t die because she won’t let him).

and I really hope that we get that with River too, like have some situation where the Doctor is threatened and she is all “Mine, you can’t have him, you can’t hurt him” (and really River has a bit of a right to that, she put a lot of work into him)

Re-watching City of Death

I am watching it with my mum to show her my theory on Clara.

and my mind is stirring. what if this is tells us more about where Moffat is going?

first off, there is a mention of cracks in time (which is part of series 5, and we never did get a proper explanation for), so what if they are part of what fractured Clara?

second, there are time jumps, where else have we seen time jumps but in The Lodger, were a Silence owned time machine is malfunctioning causes time jumps.

finally the fractured alien, who exists at multiple points in time.

conclusion, what if we find out what caused the TARDIS to explode and it also caused Clara to fracture in time.

doctorwhoinvestigator:

Here is a mystery I like to think about. The old lady in the Eleventh Hour is wearing this pin on her shirt (The doctor uses her Grandsons laptop and you can Tell she knows Amy well) But here is the thing…River Song seems to be wearing the exact same pin in the episode The Big Bang (during the wedding at the end)! Coincident? Who knows lol

But what if they are the same person? River is married to the Doctor, does that mean Jeff (the old ladys grandson) is the doctors grandson as well? But then River supposedly dies at the end of Forest of the Dead… But it seems no one stays dead in Doctor Who.

a-peculiar-mademoiselle:

In The Imposible Astronaut when River tells Rory about her relationship with the Doctor

  1. I really don’t believe what she says about “Every time we meet, I know him more and he knows me less.” I think that might be the general  pattern of their travels but that is just not true from what we’ve seen of their timelines.  There are times when they do move somewhat in the same order .
  2. I’m not exactly sure to what she is referring when she says “The first time I met him, he knew all about me.” Does she mean Let’s Kill Hitler? Somehow I don’t think so. I think (and I was working on a fanfiction for this but then I gave up because it sucked) it is possible that she met the Doctor when she was a little girl (maybe just after regenerating into Mels) and he told her about him, which is why she knew that the Doctor was always there to save the day (except at the Titanic and such).  And she trusted him because he knew all about her. Anyway, I think she probably met him before her timeline in Let’s Kill Hitler… what do you think?

I never thought about the second one but that makes sense. unless the silence told her all that stuff about the doctor. but maybe that is what he did during the time between aGMGtW and LKH, River told him what he needed to do and then after they did what they needed to she drugged him to forget (because River does what River wants, and River doesn’t give a single fuck about timelines and continuity if anyone she loves is in danger (including her self) so she did what she had to to keep her self safe and to protect her timeline)

Can we just talk about

How River needs to know about (and meet) her step-daughter.

I mean that is something I NEED.

I think Moffat might do it as well. he saved Jenny (read the IMDB trivia for Doctor’s Daughter it says that Moffat was the one who convinced the writer to have Jenny live at the end) and a lot of the other things he has done have all had a reason. so I think he will bring Jenny back for an episode or two.

and who wouldn’t want the last three Timelords (that we know of) being together (off and on) as one small wibbly wobbly family. I think that River and Jenny would get along great (once River gets over a small bit of anger over not knowing and once she finds out that Jenny is just the Doctor’s daughter and not the child of a previous companion (River does get a bit jealous)). I mean just look how Jenny acts, if that episode came after we knew River and we didn’t see how Jenny was made it would be more obvious that Jenny was River’s daughter than the Doctor’s.

so ya River and Jenny (Smith, not Jenny Flint) needs to be a thing, we need them together in an episode. because they would be great together and you know that Jenny is out there looking for her father (and who else would she ask but the only expert on the Doctor and Timelords, Professor River Song).
