I have this nagging feeling that we all think that River knowing the Doctor’s name means that they get married. But I wonder if it’ll be something entirely different that we wouldn’t expect. I can’t think of what that might be, but I just feel like we’re so comfortable with that idea that it’ll be wrong. Maybe we’ll find out in the finale but maybe we won’t. *shrugs*
Doesn’t mean they wouldn’t get married another time (which we know they do) but I’m just saying. :)
oh, I have a personal head canon that they get married often. part of their honeymoon was visiting all sorts of different worlds and cultures and getting married in each one (following that cultures customs, heck one time they juggled geese, cookies if you get the reference and then having another wedding night trying a new room on the TARDIS. and then on the final night when they ran out of cultures the doctor took River to a special room, a room that was a replica of a Gallifrayan temple (or what not) and there they bound their hands again and he told her his name, then he kissed her and said “finally we are married”.
what I am a sucker for a happy end and happy head canons, the canon has enough sadness and angst so I fill my head canons with joy and happiness especially for River and the Doctor
